Wildlife Tours. Winter wildlife is easy to spot, and animal tracks in the snow tell
stories.
Ice Fishing. 35 fishing ponds, a manual ice auger and ice fishing poles available.
Winter Sky Astronomy. Winter skies are crystal clear without the summer humidity.
Cross country skiing and Ice Skating.
We do not have the equipment, but we have wonderful
places to ski and skate, if you have the equipment. A few plastic toboggans and
several hills are available.
Falconry Workshop. Watch falcons and/or hawks hunt pheasant or rabbit.
Wood burning Stoves. The Woodland Carriage House
Wood Burning Cook Stove is especially fun on cold days. Try the wood burning stove
in our primitive camping cabin, 805 River, if
you like to camp in the winter.
The Coon Rapids Bowling Alley and the Winter Recreation Center, all in Coon Rapids, can be great fun even on the coldest of days.
Parties in the
River House Basement, for groups of up to 30, are cozy and comfortable. A huge fireplace provides the spark!
History Talks about the Khrushchev visit occur year round. Or enjoy a video collage of film
clips from the history of the Garst Seed Company and the Khrushchev visit. The
Garst Farm Lodge Library can be browsed for hours, and the Coon
Rapids Library provides a wonderful place to relax.
Alternative Farm Tour includes a visit to an extremely efficient solar heated home, whose design
features are unique.
Shopping. The Resort Gift Shop and Coon Rapids Shops provide a fun way to
spend a few hours. Or visit numerous Area
Tourist Attractions, including Antique Stores.
