Whiterock
Resort hosts several weddings and other parties each
summer at the River House Party Facilities. Gorgeous outdoor wedding sites,
country views and a party barn, great food, guest activities, accommodations, and a warm
and attentive staff provide the perfect spot for your special occasion.
Weddings typically
occur in the River House Yard, back-dropped by the beautiful
flowers and trees in the yard. Nearby "wilderness" venues
are also available. A public address system is available if desired. A buffet dinner is served on china from our patio
area, and guests eat on picnic tables in the yard, on the barn deck or in the basement
party room. Tables are provided for guest books, gift tables, cake tables,
etc. and garden and/or native flowers can be provided as centerpieces. The wedding dance is held in the truly great River
House Barn. It is recommended that wedding parties also rent the
Woodland
Carriage House at the River
House, to provide a large and comfortable boudoir for changing clothes, putting down
babies, housing for guests. The nearby OakridgeCountry House
can accommodate overnight guests and also makes for an ideal
gift-opening spot.
Hay rack rides are a favorite of party groups.
Party hosts are welcome to
decorate as they wish, though the natural beauty and country motif can stand on their
own. Glitter is prohibited in our barn.
Visit Windy Ridge Flowers, just up
the hill from the River House, to
arrange for flowers, or a special Iowa
wine, for your party. Gloria does lovely fresh and dried
arrangements, and can easily set up your flowers at the River House.
